Alexandra purtroppo è venuta a mancare… è stata vittima di un tragico incidente stradale, in auto con lei c'era anche il suo bambino (figlio suo e di Mitchell Islam; si erano sposati nel 2021) che per fortuna sta bene.
Davvero una tragedia, aveva solo 31 anni. Che la terra le sia lieve.

Su RSport scrivono che Daria (che però si è rifiutata di commentare la notizia) avrebbe lasciato il gruppo Tutberidze e starebbe per ritirarsi definitivamente dalle competizioni. -

Personalmente mi sembrava una persona che ha proprio APPENA cominciato a pattinare, ora che mi dici che gareggia rimango un po' spiazzata

.E l'eleggere Chen e P/C come migliori pattinatori, quando quest'anno non gareggiano, è ancor più una cavolata. Sembra una di quelle cose dove se la cantano e se la suonano da soli senza considerare minimamente l'opinione del pubblico.
Evento che diventa sempre più ridicolo. Credo che quest'anno per le nomination abbiano fatto un guazzabuglio tra stagione passata e stagione attuale, anche perché che senso ha farlo a stagione non ancora conclusa? Spiace suonare acida ma spero sia stata l'ultima edizione, questa. -

Ma che hanno combinato? Premesso che gli insulti transfobici sui social sarebbero fioccati anche qualora avessero fatto esibire una persona più capace, facendo così hanno doppiamente dato in pasto una donna trans a commenti beceri e discriminatori in cui le si rivolgono al maschile! È palese che si tratta di una persona che non pattina "di mestiere", che con ogni probabilità ha appena cominciato, in età adulta per di più.
Non sono una di quelli che "il politically correct ha rovinato tutto!", ma qui c'è pure mancanza di impegno: è un campionato europeo, avrebbero dovuto trovare un atleta, anche non finlandese, in grado di pattinare ad un livello ben più accettabile. -

Mi sa che oltre a HuaHua su QQ c'è ben poco a cui affidarsi. Terrò d'occhio i gruppi di VK e vi farò sapere se spunterà qualcosa lì, la stagione scorsa hanno trasmesso parecchie cose, non so come sono organizzati con la situazione attuale. Rosicavano anche prima (pur vincendo tutto). Non ricordo in quale gara Loena arrivò prima dopo lo short, sopra le russe (credo fosse il Finlandia Trophy della stagione scorsa, c'erano di sicuro Valieva e Kostornaia)* e sui social e media russi fioccavano commenti del tipo "tsk, ma chi è questa?!" Poi con l'esclusione dalle gare internazionali è partito il boom degli haters. Incommentabili, spero che Loena non si faccia condizionare troppo da loro, in un momento così difficile. Anche perché, per fortuna, ha il sostegno di tantissime altre persone.
*EDIT: mi sa che per la gara in questione mi confondo con qualche tappa del GP 2021/2022, ma comunque le reazioni furono quelle -

“I did not win silver but lost gold.” Loena Hendrickx (23) came to this firm conclusion after finishing second at the European Figure Skating Championships. “At the most important moment of the season, Loena has delivered her worst performance.” Coach and brother Jorik was honest about it. A fall during her short program and two slips during her free program killed her chances in Finland. Jorik is referring to the disastrous preparation his sister had had in the weeks before the European Championships. After about five months, I realized that we weren’t the perfect match after all. Then I decided to put an end to it. On top of those private problems, training in January also didn’t go well. Hendrickx suffered from twisties, the same problem that American top gymnast Simone Biles had to deal with during the past Olympic Games. Exercises that have become deeply ingrained in muscle memory as a result of intensive training abruptly stop working. Doubts interfere with its execution, and the athlete can no longer orient themselves automatically. “I was in a difficult period, and that made me very insecure. So I ended up in a vicious circle. My body was doing really crazy things. That got dangerous. I thought that with such workouts, I wouldn’t even make the top ten. I only got out of there three days before I left for Finland. Otherwise, there might not even have been a European Championships. Whether my fall on Saturday was also caused by a twistie? That could very well be. Usually, I don’t do a jump like that.”
Since the unapproachable Russians were absent, Hendrickx missed a unique opportunity to become European champion. At the World Championships in Japan at the end of March, where she will defend her vice world champion title, Russia is also absent, but she will have to deal with tough competition from Japan, the US, and South Korea. “Girls who score just as high as Loena on average,” Jorik says. “That will fuel her fighter mentality. I also assume that the Russians will be allowed to participate again next season. The exclusion of Russia has caused a lot of hatred in the figure skating world.
