La presenza di un'americana al Nebelhorn, per giocarsi uno dei 6 posti rimanenti, assieme alle varie Paganini, Kurakova, Safonova, Leung, Ma, Shabotova (probabile), Serna o Mazzara, è una pessima notizia per le nostre.
Ma se non ho capito male per i singoli i posti assegnati al mondiale sono sempre 24, alcuni però soggetti a riconferma. Nel caso delle ladies i 24 posti escludono le ultime tre classificate, in teoria al nebelhorn ci saranno 6 posti liberi più i 3 posti da confermare per USA Belgio e Austria.
sì, 30 posti totali, per ora sicuramente assegnati 21 e 3 a riconferma. 6 posti liberi però giocabili da nazioni più "predominanti" al momento come menzionato da Icemin. Paganini e Kurakova, non avendo ottenuto il libero, possono tentare al nebelhorn. L'unica è che Austria e Belgio non abbiano altre due pattinatrici in grado di raggiungere il minimo tecnico richiesto

Io la leggo come 24 assegnati, più la possibilità al Nebelhorn per alcuni di sbloccarne altri, il che significherebbe un posto già assegnato a Rep. Ceca, Regno Unito e Finlandia.

Riguardo al Nebelhorn Infatti (da sywtwfs):
The Olympic Qualifying Competition is a competition held early in the Olympic season, usually designated to be Nebelhorn Trophy. Federations may send skaters to earn spots at Nebelhorn if they fulfill the following criteria:
- The federation did not earn any Olympic spots at the World Championships in a discipline. - The federation’s skaters earned enough points at Worlds to qualify 2 or 3 spots in a discipline, but at least one skater/team did not qualify for the free skate. The federation may send one skater in that discipline to earn the second/third spot at Nebelhorn. The skater sent cannot have qualified for the free skate at the World Championships.
Any skaters can compete at Nebelhorn, but if they represent federations that have already earned all of their Olympic spots at Worlds, their placements are disregarded when it comes to the remaining spots.
The number of Olympic spots available at Nebelhorn is as follows:
Men: 6 skaters Ladies: 6 skaters Pairs: 3 teams Ice dance: 4 teams
Each federation can earn up to 1 spot per discipline at Nebelhorn. The highest-placing federations at Nebelhorn are allotted spots until the quota is filled.
If any federations that earned spots at Worlds elect not to use them, those spots will become available at Nebelhorn.
NOCs, who through their ISU MembersNation, have earned the necessary points according to Rule 378, paragraph 2b) and c) will have the right for two (2) or three (3) entries, only if, in addition, they had two (2) or respectively three (3) Skaters/Pairs/Couples qualified for the Free Skating/Free Dance in the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021 (ISU Rule 400, paragraph 3).

ISU. Prima, unico sport al mondo, cancella la quasi totalità delle gare internazionali, creando enormi difficoltà logistiche ed economiche ad atleti e federazioni (soprattutto le minori) Poi obbliga atleti fermi da un anno a giocarsi la qualificazione olimpica in una gara secca, alla quale molti sono arrivati senza adeguata preparazione. Infine scrive regole così farraginose che non si riescono a capire i criteri per le assegnazioni residue della gara del Nebelhorn. Complimenti.
The exception is if a country qualifies more than one spot at the World Championships, but only has one skater qualify for the free skate, they are allowed to send a different skater to Nebelhorn to qualify the remaining spot(s). If they do not rank high enough, the spot(s) will be reallocated to the next highest placed country not qualified from World Championship 2021.

Ne da insomma la mia stessa interpretazione. Avendo letto e riportato sul forum il documento tempo fa, io appunto pensavo, prima dei mondiali, che in questa circostanza sarebbe bastato raggiungere il libero, per chi come noi puntava nel femminile ad ottenere un posto. Dopodiché c'è la casistica del posto perso dalla Cina al maschile, che è piuttosto chiara.
Speriamo almeno che ad atleti e federazioni sia stato comunicato più chiaramente come stiano le cose, anche se ne dubito.
