"L'anno di transizione di Sara Bayon"
L'allenatrice della squadra di ginnastica ritmica spagnola ha passato un difficile 2017 per il rinnovamento dell'intero team.

Sara Bayon ha vissuto a Madrid per più di metà della sua vita, da quando è arrivata al Centro di Alta Performance della capitale spagnola a 14 anni, quando era ginnasta professionista. Più tardi ha deciso di studiare INEF, sempre a Madrid ed ha fatto lo stage nella stessa CAR dove visse anni fa. E fino ad oggi (con un piccolo intervallo in cui era lontana dalla ginnastica ritmica e ha lavorato con l'artistica), che è una delle allenatrici della squadra di ginnastica ritmica spagnola.
La Palencina, che mangerà l'uva a Madrid, chiederà l'anno prossimo un successo della squadra nazionale e renderà il lavoro un po' più facile. "È stato un anno difficile perché c'è stato il rinnovo di tutta la squadra medagliata a Rio, con ginnaste tutte nuove e molto giovani", riconosce. Il cambio generazionale si è verificato solo quest'anno, che termina tra quattro giorni esatti. Le ginnaste spagnole, vincitrici della medaglia d'argento dei Giochi di Rio, hanno deciso di allontanarsi in blocco dalla competizione e di ricominciare da capo.
"Abbiamo lavorato tutto l'anno con nuove ginnaste che non hanno avuto alcun tipo di esperienza. Pensavamo che dopo i Giochi saremmo stati un po' più tranquilli ma non è stato così. Al contrario, anche perché tutto è nuovo. Hai il tuo sistema, ma devi cambiare le cose con le nuove ginnaste", riconosce Sara Bayón, guardando indietro ad un anno complicato. Dieci ginnaste hanno la Palencia e il resto degli allenatori - sotto il comando dell'allenatore Anna Baranov - per lavorare fino al 2018.
E gli obiettivi del prossimo anno? A marzo inizia la stagione e Sara Bayón ha già tre appuntamenti segnati sul suo calendario. "La cosa più importante è una coppa del mondo che si svolgerà a marzo a Guadalajara e un campionato europeo a Valladolid, alla fine di maggio. È importante che le ginnaste siano a casa, prima dei loro fan. E, soprattutto, la Coppa del Mondo in Bulgaria a settembre », riconosce. "Il prossimo anno abbiamo molti appuntamenti più importanti", aggiunge.
Quindi il 2018 può iniziare a portare i frutti del duro lavoro dell'anno precedente. "Vedi che questa squadra non avrà niente a che fare con la precedente. Le ragazze si stanno evolvendo, migliorando e gli esercizi che abbiamo preparato sono molto più elaborati di quelli che abbiamo fatto l'anno scorso ", dice Palencia, che ama creare coreografie e scegliere la musica all'inizio della stagione.
Il risultato dello scorso anno nel campionato del mondo che si è tenuto in Italia non ha lasciato un buon gusto in bocca alla squadra nazionale. "Non abbiamo raggiunto ciò che ci aspettavamo e su cui abbiamo lavorato, in cui queste ginnaste riescono a essere all'altezza degli altri. Hanno avuto alcuni difetti nel campionato del mondo e questo ci ha portato ad essere in alcune posizioni indietro, lontano dai primi otto. Hanno finito quindicesime", sostiene.

Sara Bayón has lived in Madrid for more than half of her life, since she went to the High Performance Center of the Spanish capital with fourteen years, when she was still a professional gymnast. "It has been a tough year because it has been the renewal of all the medalist team in Rio, with gymnasts all new and very young," he acknowledges. The generational change occurred just this year, which ends within four exact days. The block of the Spanish gymnasts, winners of the silver medal of the Games of Rio, decided to move away from the high competition and had to start again from scratch.
"We have worked all year with new gymnasts who did not have any kind of experience. We thought that after the Games we would be a little calmer but it has not been like that. On the contrary, even because everything is new. You have your system, but you have to change things with the new gymnasts", recognizes Sara Bayón, looking back on a complicated year. Ten gymnasts have the Palencia and the rest of the coaches - under coach Anna Baranov - to work towards 2018.
And the goals of next year? In March the season starts and Sara Bayón already has three appointments marked on her calendar. "The most important thing is a world cup that will take place in March in Guadalajara and a European championship in Valladolid, at the end of May. It is important for the gymnasts to be at home, before their fans. And, above all, the World Cup in Bulgaria in September », he acknowledges. "This next year we have many more important appointments," he adds.
So 2018 can begin to bear the fruits of the hard work of the previous year. "You see that this team is not going to have anything to do with the previous one. The girls are evolving, improving and the exercises we have prepared are much more elaborate than those we did last year, "says Palencia, who loves to create choreographies and choose music at the beginning of the season.
Last year's result in the World Championship that was held in Italy did not leave a good taste in the mouth of the national team. "We did not achieve what we expected and we worked on it, in which these gymnasts manage to be up as the others did. They had some faults in the world championship and that led us to be in a few positions back, far from the top eight. They finished the decimoquintas", he argues. |
