Tutto suona molto colorato.
La State Sports Agency è stata creata . Teoricamente, l'agenzia dovrebbe iniziare a febbraio, e praticamente sarà a maggio. Come e con chi lavorare, come organizzare la formazione senza soldi?
Abbiamo iniziato subito a visitare i nostri uffici a maggio. E niente, ancora niente!
50 delegazioni dall'Europa verranno a Kiev.
Quindi in estate - ginnastica ritmica.
CITAZIONE Irina DERYUGINA: We are in danger of disruption preparing for the Olympics and the European Championship President of the Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation of Ukraine on problems with financing
2020 is one of the most important years for Ukrainian rhythmic gymnastics. In the coming year, this sport should be talked about a lot. Firstly, at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Ukrainian artists have one of the highest chances to win medals. Secondly, in Kiev, exactly two months before the Olympics, the 36th European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships should be held. Watch the competition will be the whole world. After all, it is in Kiev that the latest Olympic licenses will be played. Everything sounds very colorful. But there are so many but. The state has made a real diversion in relation to sports, says Irina Deryugina, vice president of the Ukrainian Gymnastics Federation, head coach of the National rhythmic gymnastics team.
We met with Irina on Monday morning, right after she ended the next meeting in the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. In the Olympic year, the budget for rhythmic gymnastics was cut so much that the very existence of this sport is in question. This interview is a scream and pain. Deryugina says that she is no longer able to remain silent. This story is about how one of the most beautiful sports has to survive. Despite the fact that Ukraine is one of the leaders in world rhythmic gymnastics. Legendary athletes were born here, including with Irina Deryugina herself.
SPORTS AS A BRAND OF THE COUNTRY WANT TO GRIND BEFORE THE OLYMPIC GAMES
- Irina Ivanovna, a few days ago several sports federations of Ukraine published an appeal to President Zelensky that they are in danger of disruption in preparation for the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo. What is the situation in rhythmic gymnastics? - At the last meeting in the Ministry they made it clear that according to the formula according to which the sport will be financed, nothing can be changed. For rhythmic gymnastics, money is not enough, it is catastrophically small. We need at least 16 million hryvnias, and they give 4.9 million. A ridiculous amount, especially in the Olympic year. With this money we can only go for two or three starts in individual exercises. There is not a single penny to prepare girls in group exercises. If the state does not find an opportunity to provide gymnasts with trips to the competitions, then the athletes themselves will not go. Parents don't have that kind of money. Preparing Ukraine for the Olympic competitions in rhythmic gymnastics is in jeopardy. And now everyone is in shock. There is a diversion against sports. Coaches, athletes are nervous. Once upon a time, Ukraine gave the world rhythmic gymnastics as an Olympic sport. Like football in Britain, rhythmic gymnastics can become the hallmark of our country. After all, we have the strongest school, they tear me apart from other countries and ask our coaches. And meanwhile, power turns us into a laughing stock and cannot even provide the necessary minimum.
- Ukraine, as a country, has already received a license to participate in rhythmic gymnastics competitions at the Olympics 2020. Which of the girls should go? - Nikolchenko, Pogranichnaya, Meleshchuk, Onoprienko, Vartlaan are in the selection. This is for individual exercises. As for group exercises, now we are looking for and selecting the composition. Some things do not suit me yet. It should be as strong and modern as possible.
- Despite everything, Ukraine is one of the strongest in rhythmic gymnastics. At the last Olympics, the main struggle broke out between our country and Russia. Now imagine the situation: there is such a chance that due to the doping scandal, Russian gymnasts will miss the Olympics in 2020, and Ukraine is going - and ...? - Let’s go without it, I ask you. I don’t even want to talk. Do you know why? It is impossible! It bothers me. And I'm not talking about this with the girls. Our task now is to be as prepared for the Olympic Games as possible. I want to beat Russia. And not only her, I want to win at all! We are preparing such exercises for group members ... I want the brains and heads of athletes who are ready to plow for eight months. When I decide on the composition - hold on! If the authorities still understood this and would meet us ... Indeed, no matter what, we plow and train. A lot of nerves go to questions related to financing. But in our hall every day, from morning to night, work is in full swing.
- In Ukraine, 2020 will also be a year of reforms in sports. The State Sports Agency is being created. How will this affect, in particular, rhythmic gymnastics? - Since May, the leaders of all sports federations have been repeating and explaining: do not touch sports in the year of the Olympics. But they (the authorities - auth.) Everything has already been decided. It seems that someone just wrote on a piece of paper and they clearly follow the instructions. No arguments work. You see, today I’m sitting and thinking: in the first half of the year we have three important areas - preparing for the Olympics, holding the Deryugina Cup and the European Championship in Kiev. Theoretically, the agency should start in February, and practically it will be in May. How and with whom to work, how to organize training without money?
Some myths are now telling us that we must work on a different system. But no one explains how. Dear, why are you conducting experiments in the Olympic year? The Olympics will end, new leaders will join the process - then think about reorganization. But do not touch us in such a crucial year! My personal opinion is this: sport should remain directly under the Ministry, especially since we have a worthy minister of culture and sports. No need to bring to the agency level. This is the same as spitting in the face of athletes, rubbing the sport as non-existent. Grind the country's brand before the Olympic Games. Consider my words as an official appeal to the President: I urge you to leave the sport directly in the Ministry. No need to do this "abru cadabra" in the form of an agency. Because it will not turn on until May, and this breaks us all. Do not scoff at sports before the Olympics! I personally do not want to represent the country from the agency. Maybe people who are not from sports do not care. But I do not care.
TEHCOM MEMBERS WILL COME IN JANUARY, AND I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO SPEAK TO THEM
- In May 2020, the 36th European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships should be held in Kiev. In one of your interviews in January of this year, you said that nothing was ready yet, the Organizing Committee had not even been created at the level of power. Almost a year has passed. At what stage of preparation is Ukraine now? - A year has passed and nothing has changed. That power went away and did nothing. New ones came, they promised ... We immediately began visiting our offices in May. And nothing, still nothing!
Somehow they called me and asked me to organize a reception at the President’s Office with the leaders of the federations. I gathered everyone, top people came from us. But the purpose of the meeting remained incomprehensible. We looked at each other: why did you come here? They decided everything up to us. At this stage, the most important issue is that the Presidential Decree on the preparation and conduct of the European Championship Kiev-2020 should be signed. For our part, we have prepared all the papers. There are some 5 months left before the Championship, even less. Conversations with the leadership of the Ministry are constantly held, work is ongoing, but there is no result. In January, members of the Technical Committee of the European Gymnastics Union will come to me. They will watch what is ready. And I don’t know what to tell them. I don’t really know. I am ashamed of this attitude of the authorities towards sports.
- What gives the Presidential Decree? After all, the Championship is not being prepared there. - The text of the Decree should sound something like this: “I decide: 1. To create an Organizing Committee for the preparation of the Championship for the Cabinet, develop an action plan and provide funding. 2. The Kiev administration to ensure the resolution of issues related to the Championship in Kiev. " The head of the Organizing Committee should be the Prime Minister. This is important for the country ahead of the Olympics. European Championship - an event held by the country. Understand this is the face of Ukraine. The main technical issues are decided by the Federation. We already held the European Championship in 2004 and the World Championship in 2013. We held 24 Deryugina Cups. But without the green light from government agencies, we cannot move. Plus there is the issue of budget and extrabudgetary funding.
- What amount are we talking about? - In all countries of the world it is from 2 to 2.5 million dollars. The hall is very expensive, its design, video broadcasting, the reception of delegations, the entire organization. 50 delegations from Europe will come to Kiev. I want to declare: if there is no Decree, Organizing Committee and at least a hint of sufficient funding throughout January, the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in 2020 are also in jeopardy. This is a shame for the whole world.
- Imagine the worst option: in addition to reputation losses, what other consequences for Ukraine? - Sanctions and fines may apply. In November there was a deadline when at a meeting of the European Gymnastics Union in Sofia we could refuse to host the championship without any loss. Now we have no right. This is a blow below the belt. And against the backdrop of very close Olympic Games - it really hurts.
WE HAVE TOO LOW HALLS, NO CONDITIONS FOR PREPARATION
- You have already said that the gym in which Ukrainian gymnasts are training is too low. Girls are now training on the territory of the Athlete Stadium and in the October Palace. The issue of the hall with a normal ceiling height and a normal width has not been resolved for many years. How does the lack of good conditions affect the training of athletes? - Very much affected. For rhythmic gymnastics, there must be a ceiling height of 14 meters. We have 7.4 m. In such conditions, not a single national team trains. The ceiling height affects the speed of the gymnasts. Then they go to competitions in large halls and are already afraid to throw objects.
“Wait, it's not just fear.” This is also a big risk ... - They are very complex because of this. Plus, the moment that training takes place in a small-wide hall, and competitions in a large one. These are very different sensations. In a small room you get used to the boundaries, and it’s easier for you. In the big you make throws into the abyss. It’s hard to readjust, adapt. With all this, Ukrainian gymnasts are one of the best in the world. Think about how we could represent Ukraine, if we had a room with the right parameters. It comes to the fact that we have an internal struggle for the site. We must wait in line, each girl needs at least two or three workouts of 4 hours. We are squeezing, but where does this lead?
In Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, entire palaces were wiped out for gymnasts. We have two sites and one small warm-up hall in Athlet. A project has begun to build a new hall with three platforms 14 meters high, plus a dressing room and a small hotel. Deputy Minister Vladimir Shumilin figured out the situation with the "Athlete" and it was decided that the completion would be. Thanks for that. But everything was stuck at the financing stage: UAH 3 million is needed to complete the project, and further money is needed for the construction.
That is, it’s not even a new complex, but just a reconstruction on the territory of the sports complex “Athlete”? - This is the minimum that we can’t achieve in any way. The extension is right in the place of my office. A modest extension can become the gateway of Ukraine to the new Olympic pedestals. Half of the sports train abroad. But if I go out and take 5-6 girls with me, I will lose the next generation. And with all it is impossible to leave.
- The names of such gymnasts as Serebryanskaya, Tymoshenko, Bessonova, Rizatdinova, Godunko, Skaldina have already become legendary. Who could be the next legend? - The new generation of children who are now studying with us, they are completely different. Vlad Nikolchenko, if he does not spare himself, then there will be no equal to her. She has the highest “body difficulty” in the world today. And in my head is a computer. If she’s done something, she immediately calculates how to catch up on points during the performance. Rhythmic gymnastics is both physics and mathematics, and everything else that makes the Ukrainian gymnastics school special. Everything is important: what are you wearing, what is in your head and on your head, how do you follow the instructions of the coach.
- Why then at international competitions it turns out that, for example, a Russian gymnast misses an object or makes other mistakes - and wins. And ours is perfect, with bronze? - Yes, that’s a good question. But in the year of the Olympics, I do not want to talk about it. Everyone knows everything. At the last three Olympics, we had no judges. Now we are fighting for it. The rules say: if a country speaks, there must be a judge. Moreover, in all international competitions under the auspices of FIG, if the country came without a judge, she will be fined.
- How do you motivate sponsors? - Rhythmic gymnastics is a children's sport, therefore sponsors do not line up for us. But believe me: whoever gets acquainted with rhythmic gymnastics can no longer remain indifferent. At the Olympics in Rio, it was for this type of competition that tickets were asked for tickets two kilometers from the venue. There was not a single empty seat in the hall. If in winter sports there is figure skating - a diamond of the Olympics. Then in the summer - rhythmic gymnastics.
