Si riconferma campionessa mondiale: Kaori Sakamoto è oro ai Mondiali 2023 CITAZIONE“I was disappointed because I made the same mistake as I did four years ago (at the ISU World Championships 2019 in Saitama). However, I was able to recover from that and so I think I did grow from last time,” Sakamoto said.
“Last season I won Olympic bronze and the World Championship and there was huge pressure, this was the biggest challenge for me this season. At first I didn’t handle it so well, and there were many disappointments at the beginning of the season, but I was able to overcome that at the Japanese Nationals,” she explained.
“I wanted to achieve the back-to-back World titles by being super happy, but I feel a little regret and disappointed. The moment I popped the flip, I thought ‘I need to do the triple toe! I can’t make a mistake from here anymore’. Instantly I told myself to forget about that mistake and refocused.”. -

Altre dichiarazioni: CITAZIONE“I came into this competition thinking to get revenge from four years ago, but I made the same mistake again. I feel so pathetic and thought, what was all that hard work I put into my training. But I was able to refocus and do my best till the end.
Having this competition hosted in Japan and it’s been a really long time since the audience can cheer, I really felt support from so many people and I was a little nervous because of that but that gradually changed to my energy and I wanted to do my best so I really want to thank everyone for the support. For next season, because I have this feeling of regret at the biggest event of the season, I want to make sure I don’t have this feeling next season, so I want to practice even harder and I want to make sure to do clean, perfect performances at every competition.”
On being the first back to back Japanese World Champion: “I wanted to achieve that by being super happy, but I feel a little regret and disappointed. The moment I popped the flip, I thought “I need to do the triple toe! I can’t make a mistake from here anymore.” Instantly I told myself to forget about that mistake and refocused.”
