With new captain, Brazilian team of GR starts training for season 2019

This week began work on the preparation of the Brazilian rhythmic gymnastics ensemble for the 2019 season. Under the command of the technique Camila Ferezin, the girls are already training at the Center of Excellence in Gymnastics of Aracaju. In this first stage, they undergo physical and technical evaluations. The novelty for this year will be the change of leadership of the team. After the departure of Jéssica Maier, captain of the Brazilian national team in the last 7 seasons, announced at the end of last year, the Gabrielle Moraes of Paraná takes the position. The gymnasts will continue living in Aracaju, base of the selection, where there is a whole structure mounted. In a year filled with important competitions, Brazil continues to focus on the Toco-2020 project.

- The 10 selected gymnasts will be concentrated in Aracaju following a rigorous training routine. The time is very short and we have to go with maximum force to arrive with excellence in the execution. In Aracaju, they have the follow-up of all multidisciplinary team, with access to physical therapy, medical, nutritional and psychological counseling. We are very committed and enthusiastic about the new choreographies - commented Camila Ferezin, coach of the Brazilian Selection Team and Coordinator of the Selections of Rhythmic Gymnastics of CBG.

In this first month, the main focus is physical work, so that athletes can withstand the excessive load of training and improve the choreographies already set up at the end of last year. The goal is to execute the new series with excellence. Official competitions begin this month with trips to compete in World Cup stages in Europe.

The main goals in 2019 are to achieve good results at the Pan-American Games in Lima (PER) in July, and also at the Baku World Championships (AZE) in September, an event that will distribute seats for the Tokyo-2020 Olympics.

The Brazilian set will present many new features on the stage. Besides the new choreography, new rhythms. Coach Camila Ferezin even asked the internet for fans to send music suggestions that could be part of the team's performance in 2019.

- We campaigned on social networks and got lots of great music. We had so many beautiful songs that it was even difficult to choose. We opted for a beautiful song, sung with voice and words, for the series of 5 balls. The point is that almost all the songs sent were with voice and words and we could only choose one song like that. Then the song of arches and maces we found and the composer Otávio dos Santos was the one who edited. It is a completely different version of everything we have already used and a very diverse style of the 5-ball series, it was very cool and sure to surprise - Camila said.
