La sconfitta delle sorelle Averina nell'all-around individuale di ginnastica ritmica è una delle principali sensazioni delle Olimpiadi del 2020. Non mi esprimerò. Il giudizio oggi è stato ingiusto. L'ho capito subito dopo la prima esibizione di Arisha, quando il voto è stato abbassato, e poi è andata avanti all'infinito. Poi mi hanno fatto cadere.
Sei arrabbiata perché oggi tua sorella non era sul podio con te?
Sì, perché il più offensivo è il quarto posto. Certo, mi dispiace molto per lei. Non so cosa le stia succedendo adesso. La prima domanda che ho fatto: "Resterai per realizzare il tuo sogno?" Lei ha risposto - "no", ma era preda delle emozioni. So che è in grado di continuare e che è sana.
Andrai a Parigi? Continuerai?
Ho problemi alla schiena, quindi non so se la mia salute mi permetterà di resistere per altri tre anni in ginnastica. Vedremo il mio stato di salute, ma per ora non me lo consente.
Il nuovo arbitraggio ha cambiato il tuo atteggiamento nei confronti delle prestazioni?
A causa del fatto che ho avuto un infortunio alla schiena, non posso fare alcuni elementi. Queste nuove regole ti consentono di creare tutti gli elementi che puoi. Quindi è stato un bene per me, non faccio quello che fanno gli altri. Mi piego a malapena negli esercizi. Mi piacciono queste regole.
Vuoi dare un'occhiata al protocollo, capire cosa non andava?
Non c'è niente da guardare. Ho confrontato i voti che potevo ottenere con prestazioni perfette e quello che ho ottenuto. Oggi siamo state chiaramente sottopagate.

So una cosa: quando Arina è venuta dopo l'esibizione con le clavette ha detto che le ha rese perfette. Ho chiesto: "Qual è il punteggio?" e ha risposto di essere stata declassata di due punti.
Cosa ti ha detto Rita Mamun, campionessa di Rio 2016?
Era molto turbata. Ha detto che ci siamo preparate a questo per molto tempo e oggi tutto era semplicemente ingiusto. Sono stanchi che vinciamo sempre, quindi siamo stati sottopagati. È molto arrabbiata e risentita.
Quali erano i tuoi pensieri nel momento in cui ci metteva molto ad uscire il punteggio?
Mi sono subito resa conto che stavano contando per non farmi vincere. È stato subito chiaro. È stato così agli Europei, quando ho conquistato il terzo posto. Faccio sport da tanti anni, so già tutto. In quel momento ho chiesto ad Arina cosa stesse pensando. Mi ha risposto che non mi avrebbero messo al primo posto.
Perché sta succedendo questo?
Tutti sono stanchi che vinciamo sempre. Non lo so. Tale arbitraggio è stato oggi.
Hai parlato dell'infortunio, che tipo di infortunio? Quanto è grave?
Infortunio alla schiena, molto grave. L'ho ricevuto nel 2020. Quando abbiamo scoperto che le Olimpiadi erano state posticipate, il mio medico ha suggerito un intervento chirurgico. Ma mi ha avvertito che ci sarebbe voluta una lunga ripresa. Non c'era alcuna garanzia che mi sarei ripresa. Ho detto: "No, resisterò". Adesso volerò a casa e tra qualche giorno andrò da lui, decideremo.
Questo infortunio ti dà fastidio?
Si mette sempre in mezzo alla testa. Cammino, mi sdraio e mi siedo, la schiena mi fa ancora male. Quando comincio a saltare e piegarmi, mi fa male una gamba. Giro la gamba destra. E' molto difficile.
Anche Arina, a quanto pare, è stata sottopagata, perché dopotutto c'è stata una lotta per il bronzo?
È stata sottopagata, trattenuta, ma, sfortunatamente, ha commesso un errore nel nastro. Anche confrontando gli errori, mi sembra che potrebbe essere al terzo posto al cento per cento, questo non è nemmeno discusso.
Come avete provato a supportarvi a vicenda dopo l'annuncio dei punteggi? Abbiamo visto che non c'erano abbracci. Distanza sociale?
No, non una distanza. Era arrabbiata perché avevo perso, io ero arrabbiata perché avrei perso, quindi le parlavo così, a distanza. Se ci fossimo avvicinate e iniziato a parlarci, avremmo pianto a lungo.
Le ragazze di altri paesi costituivano un gruppo separato. Sono contro di te?
Sì, non tutte sono contro noi. In effetti, comunichiamo bene con loro, ci sosteniamo a vicenda, ma oggi ho notato che tutti erano stanchi di noi, quindi erano molto felici che avessi perso.
Hai detto che le Olimpiadi di Parigi molto probabilmente non le farai. È questa la decisione finale? E Arina?
Le ho chiesto subito se sarebbe rimasta, perché mancano tre anni alle Olimpiadi, non quattro o cinque, come ora stavamo aspettando. Mi ha subito detto: "No" - ma la capisco, l'ha detto e basta. Le parlerò di cosa accadrà dopo. Le ho detto subito: “Arisha, se rimani, potrei sostenerti, ma ho grossi problemi alla schiena, e tu lo sai. Riuscirai in qualche modo a mettere a punto le ragazze che andranno a Parigi in modo che si vendichino di te?
Dobbiamo ancora vivere fino a quel momento, perché non si sa ancora chi volerà lì. Se ormai si sapeva tutto, all'ultimo momento siamo arrivate e sapevamo che ci saremmo sicuramente esibite con Arisha, ora non so nemmeno chi supportare. Forse Arisha si esibirà lì in generale, la sosterrò.
Possiamo dire che se oggi tutto fosse andato secondo i piani, avresti lasciato la ginnastica a testa alta?
Se tutto fosse andato secondo i piani, sarebbe andato al cento per cento. Forse saremmo rimaste per il Mondiale, che sarà a fine ottobre, ma non saremmo andate a un'altra Olimpiade.

What do you think about refereeing?
I think it’s obvious that I’m a little upset.
Did you expect gold today?
Sure. Not that I expected, just before the last look, when I knew that Linoy had made a loss, I realized that I had a chance, and if I make the tape clean, I should be given a good mark. Unfortunately, this did not happen, today they pinched us very hard, so it happened.
What mistakes were in the feed?
Linoy made a very gross mistake, she lost the object with which she performed the exercise. And I went through the tape more or less cleanly. I did everything I could.
All your fans talk about refereeing, of course, they are unhappy. What do you think about the tournament refereeing?
I will not express myself. The judging was unfair today. I realized this right after Arisha's first performance, when the grade was lowered, and then it went on and on. Then they dropped me.
Are you upset that today your sister was not on the podium with you?
Yes, because the most offensive is the fourth place. Of course, I'm very sorry for her. I do not know what is happening to her now. The first question I asked: "Will you stay to make your dream come true?" She answered - no, but it was on emotions. I know that she is able to continue and that she is healthy.
Will you go to Paris? Will you continue?
I have back problems, so I don't know if my health will allow me to hold out for another three years in gymnastics. Let's look at my state of health, but so far it does not allow me.
Has the new refereeing changed your attitude to performances?
Due to the fact that I had a back injury, I cannot do some elements. These new rules allow you to make whatever elements you can. So it was good for me, I don't do what others do. I barely bend in the exercises. I like these rules.
Do you want to look at the protocol, understand what was wrong?
There is nothing to watch. I compared the grades that I could get with perfect performance and what I got. Today we were clearly underestimated.
How much was missing?
I know one thing: when Arina came after the performance with the clubs, she said that she made them perfect. I asked: "What is the grade?" She replied that she had been downgraded by two points.
What did Rita Mamun, Rio 2016 champion, tell you?
She was very upset. She said that we went to this for a very long time, and today everything was just unfair. Tired that we always win, so we were underestimated. She is very upset and resentful.
What were your thoughts at the moment when they were giving marks for a long time?
I immediately realized that they are counting so that I do not win. It was immediately clear. Such was the case at the European Championships, when I took third place. I've been in sports for so many years, I already know everything. I asked Arina at that moment what she was thinking. She replied that they would not put me first.
Why is this happening?
Everyone is tired that we always win. I dont know. Such refereeing was today.
You talked about the injury, what kind of injury? How serious is it?
Back injury, very serious. I received it in 2020. When we found out that the Olympics had been postponed, my doctor suggested surgery. But he warned me that there will be a long recovery. There was no guarantee that I would recover. I said: "No, I will endure." Now I will fly in and in a few days I will go to him, we will decide.
Does this injury bother you?
It gets in the way in the head. I walk, lie and sit, my back still aches. When I start jumping and bending, then she gives me in the leg. I twist my right leg. Very difficult.
Arina, too, it turns out, was held back, because after all there was a fight for bronze?
She was held, held, but, unfortunately, she made a mistake in the tape. Even comparing errors, it seems to me that she could be in third place one hundred percent, this is not even discussed.
How did you try to support each other after the announcement of the ratings? We saw that there were no hugs. Social distance?
No, not a distance. She was upset that I lost, I was upset that I would lose, so they talked to her like that, at a distance. If we went up to each other and started hugging, we would cry for a very long time.
Girls from other countries stood as a separate group. Are they against you?
Yes, everyone is not against us. In fact, we communicate well with them, we support each other, but today I noticed that everyone was tired of us, so they were very happy that I lost.
You said that the Olympics in Paris - most likely not. Is this the final decision? What about Arina?
I immediately asked her if she would stay, because there are three years before the Olympics, not four or five, as we were now waiting. She immediately said to me: "No" - but I understand her, she just said so. I will talk to her about what will happen next. She immediately told her: “Arisha, if you stay, I may support you, but I have big back problems, and you know that. If suddenly I don’t stay, please go to your goal, your dream. Fight till the end. I will just support you from the outside."
-Will you somehow tune the girls who will go to Paris so that they take revenge for you?
We still have to live up to that moment, because it is not yet known who will fly there. If now everything was known, at the last moment we flew in and knew that we were definitely performing with Arisha, now I don't even know whom to support. Maybe Arisha will perform there in general, I will support her.
We can say that if today everything went according to plan, would you leave gymnastics with your head held high?
If everything had happened according to plan, then one hundred percent would have gone. Maybe we would have stayed for the World Championship, which will be at the end of October, but we would not have gone to another Olympics. |
